
What
is Scootle?
Scootle (www.scootle.edu.au).is
an online environment that provides access to digital curriculum
content developed by The Le@rning Federation (TLF). It contains
over 6200 resources including learning objects, images, movies
and sound files.
Conditions of Use
Features
For teachers:
- Search and browse tools allow quick and easy access to
TLF resources.
- View or download resources.
- Save searches as Favourites that can be shared with colleagues.
- Use Favourites to create Learning Paths for students –
each with a unique 6-digit PIN - that can be printed or
saved.
For students:
- login using the unique 6-digit PIN to easily access the
Learning Path
- challenge students to question, investigate, analyse,
synthesise, solve problems, make decisions, and reflect
on their learning
- contain scaffolded learning tasks that provide feedback
to students on their learning in a variety of supportive
and engaging ways.
Registration
Each school must nominate a Scootle School Manager. Teachers
are required to complete a simple online registration process
to access the licensed materials in Scootle. Contact your
Scootle
School Manager for more information. To find out who the Scootle Administrator for your school is please contact ICT for Learning on 8999 3722.
School Manager is responsible for:
- Register as the school manager through the email sent from Scootle and confirm the registration.
- Become familiar with how to use the website.
- Invite teachers in your school to register through emailing the standard invitation email. Teachers are expected to use their ntschools logon. Please note this is the teacher staff only to meet NT license requirements.
- Support school staff in using the website sharing new and interesting resources.
- Notifying the NT Administrators when teachers move to/from another NT School (to ensure that teacher accounts are moved between schools).
- Notifying the NT Administrator when teachers at their school leave the NT (so that access to Scooted is removed).

Learning objects
These are digital multimedia interactives designed to engage
and motivate student learning across all curriculum areas
from Pre – Year 12.
Digital resources
These are digitised items such as museum artefacts, artworks,
archival documents, photographs, archival and contemporary
moving images, maps, posters, songs and speeches.
