Vision for ICT in Education
All DEET Educators will be confident, creative and productive
users of ICT and new technologies, to improve student outcomes
by:
- Integrating ICT into classroom practice to create flexible
learning opportunities
- Maximising effective use of electronic student and school
management systems and learning resources
A comprehensive range of online learning environments has been
developed and is being progressively implemented in schools.
These infrastructure and learning services will need ongoing
refinement however it is arguable that the major challenge and
opportunity for change now lies with enhancing the use and integration
of ICT in the learning environment.
Key Strategies 2007
- Consolidate existing initiatives into a DEET ICT professional
learning plan.
- Implement the ICT Teacher Capabilities package in all
DEET schools.
- Establish a research strategy to evaluate current practice
and inform future practice.
- Develop partnerships to provide targeted ICT professional
learning.
