CDU Courses

The NT Department of Education and Training, through the ICT Teacher Capability Project, offers NT DET teachers an opportunity to study towards a Higher Education qualification at Charles Darwin University in 2009.

NT DET will refund two Higher Education units per teacher through the Approved Student Status program in a Graduate Certificate in Education, Masters of Education or Batchelor of Education.

Graduate Certificate in Education

NT DET will fund two units per teacher as part of a Graduate Certificate in Education – ICT Specialisation (GCE). This equates to a total of 2 of the 4 units needed to complete a GCE for each successful applicant.

If you are not enrolled in this course then you must enrol in with CDU before applying for Approved Student Status.

Master of Education

NT DET will fund two units from the GCE – ICT Specialisation per teacher to be used towards a Master of Education Degree.

Note: Only some of the Higher Education units on offer as part of the GCE can also be used toward a Master of Education Degree. Please contact the appropriate CDU staff

Bachelor of Education

NT DET will fund two units from the GCE – ICT Specialisation per teacher to be used towards your 4th year of study (Bachelor of Education) for 3 year trained teachers.

If you are not enrolled in this course then you must have enrolled in a Bachelor of Education before applying for approved Student Status.

Application Process

CDU Enrolment
You must be enrolled with CDU before seeking funding through approved student status for a Higher Education unit in ICT in Education.
If you are already enrolled in a course then you just need to apply to do one of the DET supported units.
If you are not enrolled in a course then you must enrol in either a Graduate Certificate in Education (GCE) - ICT Specialisation or a Masters Degree or a Batchelor of Education.

NOTE: Approved Student Status applicants pay up front, and once the unit is completed, a reimbursement form is sent to DET.
