ICT Strategic Plan Guidelines

The ICT Strategic Plan template is designed to assist schools in the development of an ICT school plan.

An ICT Strategic Plan is a requirement for all schools participating in Round Two Applications for the National Secondary School Computer Fund.

It links the elements from Digital Education – making change happen framework to the Key Result Areas that schools are required to report against in the DEET Accountability and Performance Improvement Framework (APIF).

The draft Digital education - making change happen is provided as a resource to support schools in meeting the national vision of “all schools confidently using ICT in their everyday practices to improve learning, teaching and administration”. It provides a guide for reflection, and strategic planning for the integration of ICT teaching, learning and administration. It is a tool that school leaders, staff and the school community can use to review and evaluate where they are now and where they want to be into the future, and to monitor their progress.

It is anticipated that schools will address elements 10, 1 and 3 as a minimum. Schools may choose to address the other areas in their plan or in future plans over a four year cycle.

For schools applying for the National Secondary School Computer Fund you will need to convert your ICT Strategic Plan Template to a PDF to attach to your online application.Procedure - Convert ICT Strategic Plan into PDF

NTSchools Rollout Phase 2 Initiatives
A number of refinements are planned over the next few weeks as part of a second phase of the project to provide more flexibility and better control of resources. The following is a summary of these initiatives. We are keen to get feedback on these changes and suggestions for other enhancements to the service click for more information ......

Anti Spam
A new system was implemented in December to provide more effective blocking of SPAM emails and hopefully you will be free of the deluge of unwanted emails that impacted on the service last year.

School Printer Purchases
As previously advised printers were not replaced under the NTSCHOOLS technology upgrade project. Schools wishing to purchase replacement or additional printers can buy from any printer hardware retailer. If you wish to take advantage of the contracted price and full warranty repair arrangement, Corporate Express who supplied the Server and UPS equipment to the upgrade project have offered the Brother HL-5270DN Workgroup Network Monochrome Laser Printer at $501.15 exclusive of GST. (Please note that this printer supplied under the Department's contract arrangements will change as newer models are released).
