Teacher Laptop Reallocations for Semester 1
We have received the new school staffing allocations for Semester
1 and are looking to reallocate Laptops to match the new teacher
allocations over the next 2 weeks. The teacher allocations
are based on the number of NT Government funded teachers at
each school and the principals and assistant principals. It
does not include staff funded through other programs such
as PE coordinators. For more information please go to http://www.ict.schools.nt.gov.au/laptops/laptop_reallocations.shtml
We would also like to reiterate that the Optima Laptops will
be returned to the Computer Fleet at the end of the leases
in July. Please ensure that any Optima laptops that have problems
are passed to the warranty agent for repairs as they must
be retuned in working order.
School Purchases of Dell Computers and Notebooks
If your school would like to order Dell computers and have
not received your account information please contact gregory.moo@nt.gov.au.
When your account is established you can order the standard
notebook and desktop models being used in schools and these
will be loaded with the standard image including the Office
Suite.
When the Dell site is used, the order needs to be printed
after confirmation and faxed to Julia Jones at Dell. Her fax
number is (02) 89726732. You can also contact Julia via email
at julia_jones@dell.com if you have
any queries about orders.
Investing in Our Schools Submissions
Congratulations to the schools that were successful in the
third round of Investing in Our Schools submissions. About
half of the successful submissions related to ICT initiatives.
Schools who sought funds for computers should use the Dell
contract to purchase desktop and laptop computers. Please
contact clint.andrews@nt.gov.au
if your school submission included local area network upgrades
as we are looking at arranging a number of bulk contracts
for cabling and related services for schools.
Software
Microsoft Home Licensing Agreement
Home usage rights have been negotiated as part of the Microsoft
Schools agreement. This means school staff and students are
able to load the latest version of Microsoft Office on their
home computers. Schools need to ensure each user signs a home
use agreement before providing the software. Click
here for a copy of the home use agreement.
IT Services will supply copies of Microsoft Office to schools
however you will need to make your own copies to provide to
home users or you can load the software for them at the school.
Please contact sue.coward@nt.gov.au
to obtain a copy of the Microsoft Office DVD for your school.
